Hillside Public Schools

Hillside Innovation Academy (HIA) scholars participated in a presentation today facilitated by the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education and advancement of minorities in all aviation and aerospace careers! The program offers students a hands-on experience of learning aviation history, fundamentals of aerodynamics, the role of government in aviation, and the many careers available in the aerospace field! This is just the start of HIA's collaboration with OBAP and Ascent to Equality as the panelists (Captain Gabrielle Harding, Captain Peter Henry, Flight Attendant and Drone Pilot, Ms. Bridgette Fabor, and Aerospace Engineer/Aircraft Maintenance Technician, Mr. Aaron Allen) pledged to sponsor 4 HIA applicants to the flight simulation program scheduled for Spring 2025!
