W.O.K. Middle School's Black History Month Celebration  2025

W.O.K. Middle School hosted a phenomenal Black History Month Assembly today, (February 27th, 2025)! The theme of today's program was "African-Americans and the Labor Movement, The fight for economic independence." W.O.K.'s auditorium was packed with students, parents, families, staff, dignitaries, Hillside Board of Education members, and more! Today's program featured performances from the W.O.K. Choir, the Wildcat Dance Ensemble, the Poetic Group, and the W.O.K. Strings Ensemble! Congratulations to the W.O.K. Black History Month Artwork Presenters Dave Vital and Witzar Platel. Shout out to Ms. Thomas who was awarded the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Service Award, and Hillside Board of Education President Ms. Laquana Best who was awarded the Shirley Chisholm Impact Award !
