In a bid to promote mental wellness among students, Melba Mullins, Hillside High School's Student Assistance Coordinator & the Counseling Department, successfully organized a transformative Mental Health Fair on May 30, 2024! Held in the serene ambiance of the high school Media Center, the event saw the active participation of various state and county agencies, each dedicated to presenting an array of mental health resources and engaging activities aimed at fostering relief and well-being among our students. Attendees were welcomed with engaging sessions of finger painting, coloring activities, and uplifting positive affirmations, thus creating a safe space for students to unwind, relax, and explore techniques for managing their emotional well-being. The tranquil atmosphere, combined with the enriching resources provided, made the Mental Health Fair a truly impactful and valuable experience for all participants! On Wednesday, May 29th, the Walter O. Krumbiegel Band held a showcase and recruitment event for all 6th grade students. At Deanna G. Taylor Academy, students began exploring how to use the Makey Makey! We are embarking on an exciting journey into the world of interactive electronics and creative problem-solving. The Makey Makey innovative kit empowers students to transform everyday objects into touchpads and integrate them with computer programs! Through hands-on experimentation, students develop skills in circuitry, programming, and design thinking. This is fostering a deeper understanding of STEM concepts and unleashing students' creative potential.
