Our Pink-Tacular Events Day kicks off with our Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Hillside High School, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. During the last stretch of the walk, we will head over to Hurden Looker Elementary School via Liberty Avenue for Hillside Public Schools' exciting Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.! Last, but not least, we will conclude the day at Woodfield Stadium, supporting breast cancer awareness and our Hillside Comets Football team loudly and proudly wearing pink during the Pink-Out Football Game, starting at 2:00 p.m.! At the Hillside Board of Education meeting last night (9/25/25), our Hillside High School Junior Engineering Technical Society (J.E.T.S.) team and Ms. Ebong were awarded for their outstanding work in the National TSA Conference Competition in Nashville, Tennessee, which took place over the summer! Superintendent Glover, Principal Woolard, Ms. Ebong, Hillside Board of Education President Ms. Best, and the Hillside Board of Education presented the JETS their awards.

Hillside Public Schools is pleased to announce significant progress in our partnership with the Township of Hillside to tackle the critical issue of vaping in our community. This initiative aims to protect our youth and promote community wellness.

Under the leadership of Ms. Mullins, Hillside District Student Assistance Coordinator, and Superintendent Glover, alongside 1st Ward Council Member Andrea Hyatt, who championed the ordinance with the Hillside Township Council, have raised awareness and implemented solutions. The Hillside Police Department, New Jersey Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S) and Prevention Links have actively engaged students and community members on the dangers of the vaping epidemic.

A key outcome of our collaboration was the successful Hillside Community Forum on Vaping, leading to the Hillside Township Council's adoption of a new ordinance on August 4th, 2025 (ordinance #O-25-14) which addresses vaping and the illegal sale of vaping products in the Township of Hillside. Hillside Public Schools remain committed to prioritizing student safety and well-being.

Today (9/22/2025), the ribbon-cutting ceremony for A.P. Morris Early Childhood Center's newly renovated playground was held! Over the past two days, Hillside Public Schools teachers delved into the SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition) model while exploring how @apple technology can be used to strengthen curriculum and pedagogy. They discovered effective ways to ignite creativity, foster innovation, and design lessons that not only redefine learning but also ensure accessibility and engagement for all students!
